Introduction
Over the years many tools have become available to the navigator: GPS, AIS and Electronic Charts are some examples. However, the introduction of electronic tools have shifted the focus away from basic navigation skills towards the use of computerized systems. As a result, the modern navigator is inclined to ‘look down’ at its instruments instead of looking through the bridge windscreens. However, to safely use the modern equipment a basic understanding of navigation at sea is essential.
The training package
We offer navigation training which focuses on the basic technical skills of navigation in combination with these modern navigation tools like RADAR and GPS. The content of the navigation training can be put together from several building blocks listed below.
Course members don't need to have any knowledge on navigation at sea. This makes this course also ideal for schools or organizations who would like to have their students or crewmembers to obtain a better knowledge on maritime navigation.
The length of the course varies from a half-day workshop to a two week course which gives the participants a good starting point for safe navigation at sea.
Additional services
Depending on Customer’s demand the course can be extended with Crew Resource Management. Also maritime-consultancy on Customers’ location is possible.
